More about the wine...

Chambourcin was a red wine hybrid developed and released in 1963 by Frenchman, Joannes Seyve. Since then it has been cultivated most notably in the Loire Valley in France. It enjoys some popularity in the American Mid East and in Australia.
Chambourcin is a variety noted for its great resistence to mildew and early picking. Therefore, it is most suited to the climate in the Stroud Area.
Wines produced from Chambourcin in our area generally show intense colour with abundant natural acidity and are typically soft and well balanced on the palate from an early age.
Although attractive to the palate when young, Alderley Creek Wines Chambourcin will also age gracefully for up to 5 years.

Verdelho is classified as a noble or classic grape and as a variety is becoming popular Australia wide. It is very suited to the climate at Alderley, again for its early ripening.
Alderley Creek Wines Verdelho has delicate fresh aromas of tropical fruits through to zesty citrus. It's a refreshing versatile white, deliciously moorish as an aperitif or with a variety of dishes especially spicy asian style or seafood.
